Zoya
is a one in a million dream dog. She and I are involved in the Tyler
Obedience Training Club where we volunteer to train others to train
their dogs. We have walked in the Rose Parade, demonstrated obedience at
the East Texas Fairgrounds, and donated animal respirator masks (Zoya
demonstrates in photo) to area fire departments. Zoya has also became a
certified therapy dog through Therapet of East Texas. She has gone to
visit at the hospital, done therapy at the rehabilitation hospital and
also volunteered for Walk a Mile for a Special Child.
Zoya
finished her championship November 24, 2007. She also earned her
companion dog title March 16, 2008. Zoya received her Rally Novice
title also on the same day.
Pat
made Zoya famous with her debut on You Tube. Strangers were telling me
about the clip they saw with a giant and her deer friend. When I would
mention that this is the giant they would gasp and say "so this is Zoya."
I
want to thank Pat for all the help and free advice (which she freely
gives). Giants are an amazing breed but I am thankful that somehow I
picked the right breeder and the breeder saw something in me that made
her feel confident that I would do right by her pup.
When
you start with a great dog you can do many enjoyable things and
participate in fun sports. Because she has such a great temperament Zoya
has done other fun things like walked in parades and won Halloween
costume contests and she loves the attention and to be out doing things
with me all the time. She is welcome everywhere we go.
Thanks most of all Pat, for entrusting me with a terrific Magna dog. I
feel honored.
Mary has a little deer that thinks she is a
little lamb and everywhere that Mary
looks the deer is sure to show. This
deer just wont go away. In fact, now that Zoya
has arrived Daisy
may never leave. Except, well...just yesterday
she brought a buck home. So there may be a new little flower for Zoya to
befriend. Or, perhaps the deer and her baby will return to the wild.
Daisy
was rescued when her Mother was killed by a car. She survived by bottle feeding
and the people who own Zoya
never intended for her to be a pet, but she just never left. When baby Zoya
arrived they were immediate friends and since Daisy was hand raised she
was very tame and amazingly gentle. She would go to the door like a dog pineing
her and requesting the pup to come out and play. This wonderful friendship goes
on with little change until recently when Daisy brought home a buck.
Timing with Daisy's new life could not be better as the people
who raised her have to move. Now that she has her babies she has the best chance
of her lifetime to return to being wild. In fact, she has not been seen since
those pictures were taken which is great news. The ranch house of their employer
will have a Daisy Book for the new ranch manager so they are aware of her but
hopefully she will move into the wild permanently.
This is likely the last of the updates of Daisy. We all wish
her well and I am personally grateful to her for sharing her world with us
through her caretakers. The pix of the babies were taken at just minutes old
from only a couple feet away. Thank you Daisy and Mary for sharing. It has been
a treasured experience.
