Rome is a Slick
and Natalie son. The litter consisted of 4 boys, and 1 girl. All were as
sweet as pie! Rome was sold as a 5 month old pup- Magna raised to
that point.
He now resides very happily with his
family in Maryland where he is adored!

I can think of no better way to
represent the experience of living with a Magna Giant than to offer the
relative portions of emails sent by those willing to share their
experiences. Thank you Todd & Michelle. (I think this is kinda like a
blog? Enjoy!) |

Todd & Michelle's comments:

Pat, Romulus: AKA, Rome had another good day. Michelle
said that he and Joshua had the best time running and playing in the
yard today. This evening when we sat down to eat, I told Rome to go to
his room (His kennel) and he did. He not only went to his room, but he
also waited until I told him that he could come out before he came out.
I was amazed.
Talk to you later. Todd

Pat, On Tuesday, my daughter came over for dinner and brought her bitch (1
year old Pit/Boxer mix). The two of them had a great time. They played
together like they were long lost friends. This morning I had the
pleasure of being home when Joshua woke up. You should have seen Rome
come running into the room as soon as he heard Joshua's voice. If Rome
could speak, I am certain that he would have been yelling, "My boy is
up! My boy is up!" Josh loved every minute of affection that Rome was
giving him. Once again I say, "He is a great dog." Talk to you later, Todd

Pat to Todd: You know, I often ponder
what I contribute to life. My friend Gary says this (offering great dogs
who warm the hearts of others) is significant
enough. Not sure if he is right, but "I" am really fulfilled by the joy of
a small boy with a dog.
I would say that Gary is correct. When I see the joy that Rome brings all
of us when Josh is giggling and laughing while Rome is kissing him, I
know he is correct. Todd

Pat, Things are still going very well.
Do you remember me telling you that Rome never barks? Well that has
changed now. He does not bark all of the time but he does always bark
when he is unsure of something/someone. He and Joshua act like siblings.
He loves everyone in the house, but he seems to be drawn more to me than
the others. Of course I feed him, walk him, bathe him and I am more
stern with him. Michelle told me that every time I leave the house for
work that Rome cries for a few minutes and then goes to his room. When I
am home, he follow me from room to room. I think that he is pretty much
house broken now. We have not had an accident in a few days now. Rome is
very loved and seems to love his new family. Todd

Everyone at the vet's office was very impressed with both Rome's looks
and behavior yesterday.

Pat, We are still so very pleased to have Rome as our new family member.
He has made great progress with the “Potty Training”. He now lets
us know when he has to go. He loves to run and play. As I
said before, he has taken to me like I am his mother. He always
has to be in the room with me. When he wants attention, he makes
sure that he gets attention. Today I was updating our photo album
and Rome wanted me to play with him. He kept putting his face and
paw in my lap (On the photo album) until I stopped doing what I was
doing and started playing with him. He learned his first command
this week…”Sit”. Talk to you later, Todd

Today Michelle took Rome in for his rabies shot and she got nothing but
compliments from everyone on how beautiful Rome is.

I forgot to tell you about the extra
benefit that I receive from owning Rome. Every day when I come home
from work, Rome comes running to me to get some 'Welcome home from work
loving." Now that Rome greets me that way, now Joshua does the same.
So now I have two boys attacking me when I return home every day.

Here are a couple of pics of
Rome and his buddy Joshua (Notice Joshua's hair cut?). Rome is still
doing great. He listens very well. He is now trained to walk with me
without a leash and he loves his walks. He is definitely enjoying the
cooler weather. We have a hard time keeping him indoors now. It is
amazing how he is so persistent. If there is something that he wants...a
treat, a walk, out, water, food.....he will stay on you until he gets
what he wants/needs. He also has a funny noise that he makes at us when
he is "talking" to us about what he wants. The noise is a mix between a
growl, bark and a groan. What ever the noise is officially called, it
is amusing. Talk to you later, Todd
Pat to
Todd: Yep, Giants talk. It clearly is nothing more than an attempt
to communicate as it has no negative messages of body posture, ear and
tail messages... nothing more than that. Oh... and love the photos!
