We call him
"Purple"

Purple received first award of Merit at the Eastern Regional Specialty
2006 even with his natural ears! Yes, natural earred dogs can win in the
ring but a great dog like Purple could have done even better had he been
cropped. This is a fact we are not unhappy with as we feel we can hardly
complain with all the outstanding winning he has done on his own.
Consider too that he has
almost exclusively been shown by me and not a dollar spent on politics
or ads. (This is almost always the case with Magna dogs because we have
not got the money nor the backers it takes to campaign a dog which is
really a requirement to that kind of winning the "game.") This day at the specialty I was showing the winners dog and
could not show two dogs at the same time so we had to get someone to
show him. Cliff Steele did a great job with him and it was the first
time they had met. We have lots of great dogs in our future and many of
Purple's children are looking outstanding so we have nothing to
complain about. Stay tuned to the website as we like to update you
frequently. |

"Purple" is one of the most wonderful GS boys I have ever known. As
the son of Rhea and Pasha, you would also expect him to be
extraordinarily handsome, and
I think he is that and then some. More importantly is how truly incredible
he is to be
around. He LOVES people, but no one will go unnoticed and those around
him will be alerted to any intruders. Though he is can be stubborn at
times, he is very sweet, and reliable (a characteristic I
very much appreciate in a giants temperament!) and the perfect family pet.
I share ownership of this boy with his wonderful co-owners:
Tom &
Lisa Baker. He shares his home with Magna's Ebony "Patina."
Or,
since she was there first, I guess she is sharing with him. Nonetheless,
they are really lucky dogs!
If you are at a dog show and have a moment, say hi to the Bakers.
You will probably will find them busily preparing or showing their Magna Giant
Schnauzers.

CONFORMATION: Purple is stunning and moves very beautifully reflecting
his perfect balance structurally. He is one handsome boy and very special to us! I
look forward to him having a very positive impact in Magna's future
breeding program. Look for him at specialties and in Canada to
finish his Canadian championship.
STUD DOG: Purple has now sired his first litter.
His pups very much resemble him in that they are very large boned,
breathtaking movement, "to die for heads" and SWEET! To say I am
thrilled with how his first pups look is truly an understatement. The
fourth pick of the litter is as good a dog as the first and all four of
them look like possible future superstars! Stay tuned for updates!
