Harley is completely charming! When you talk to him he
cocks his head way to the left, then way to the right. He is so cute
when he pounces on his toys and sends them flying across the room. His
favorite things while still here at Magna were empty gallon milk jugs
because they fly really well and baby pools for splashing in. Harley is no sissy dog
and like many Giant Schnauzers, needs a family that will not let him run
the house but be fair too. I think these folks will do a great job and
this dog will be very happy in Charlottesville, VA. |

Sue and Norman's comments:
My experience at
Pat's house was very positive. She was extremely honest and told
me things about my dog that would give me a painting of his demeanor.
He was difficult as a smaller pup and she spent extra time working with
him. Norman and I are strong and consistent and felt that we could
handle him.
Since he has been home with us, he has been a sweet pea and we changed
his name from Bo to Harley. He has become an escape artist and I
think I should have named him Harry Houdini. He got out of his
crate yesterday and destroyed one of my blinds, a decorative plate that
belonged to my great grandmother, knocked over an Orchid, and made a
general mess. It is amazing how smart these dogs are! Once he got
out of his crate the first time it was like he knew it could be done
again if only he tried harder and figure out the puzzle. I guess he
taught us that you have to be careful what you teach a giant! Well the
crate problem is solved and we are going to obedience classes soon. He
is extremely smart and an obedient dog is very important to us because
we know that we will all be much happier if he is well behaved. When he
first came here at 6 months of age he came when he was called and was
very appropriate in his behaviors and we want to continue with further
training. We want him to be happy all of his life being included in our
activities with friends and not a bother to us or those around us.
