DIRECTIONS

We are located between Martinsburg and Berkeley Springs in beautiful West Virginia only 90 minutes from Baltimore and Washington DC, 20 minutes from Hagerstown, MD, 40 minutes from Winchester, VA.

View a list of things to do while in the area.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL ENTERING THE PREMISES - Everyone (including myself when I return from outings) entering the premises must bleach the bottom of their shoes and disinfect their hands. There is a bleach bottle hanging from a sawhorse I have set up as a barricade for that purpose. Hands must also be disinfected with antibacterial wipes. This is for the protection of our puppies. There are outbreaks of Parvo, a bad virus similar to a cold that is killing young healthy dogs and brucellosis. We are serious about the health of our kids. Understand that people with sick dogs go to Wal-Mart, they go to the Pub, they go to the Post Office etc. and germs are transported on hands and shoes. So, while these measures may seem extreme, in reality, we consider them good practices. Thank you for understanding.

FROM INTERSTATE 81 (THOSE COMING FROM THE EAST HEADING WEST):

  1. Take I81 to WV exit 16W which is Rt. 9 heading towards Berkeley Springs.

  2. You will go about 13 miles and turn right onto Clone Run Road. See "micro directions below"

  3. Make the next right onto Climbing Ivy Lane (see huge boulder on the corner) and then it is the second house on the left. Number 73- Big brown cedar sided with white garage doors.

The "micro directions" for  those coming from the East and heading West on Rt. 9 - as you travel Rt. 9 and get close to your turn on Clone Run Road you will see a road called Mountain Lake Road and a sign pointing that way for THE WOODS RESORT. Do not turn but make note that you have l.5 miles to your next turn. The next marker if you miss that one is a sign that says MORGAN COUNTY on the right and a restaurant on the left. This is 1 mile before the turn. As you approach you will see a church with a cemetery on the left on a hill. Then you will come down the hill and up the next one. At that point slow down and put on your right blinker. The street aligns to the right with Pleasant View Elementary Schools driveway on the left. (The road is hard to make out in the dark so that helps me see it in the night.)

FROM THE NORTH-WEST HEADING SOUTH-EAST:

  1. Take I70 to Rt. 522 South towards Hancock.

  2. Just after you cross over the river make a left on to River Road. This is a windy country road.

  3. Follow it until you get to Rt. 9 and turn left. I think it is just 3/4 mile or so and you will see a pond next to Pleasant View Elementary School on the right.

  4. Turn left onto Clone Run Road which is across from the schools driveway.

  5. Make the next right onto Climbing Ivy Lane (see huge boulder on the corner) and then it is the second house on the left. Number 73- Big brown cedar sided with white garage doors.

The "micro directions" for  those coming from the West and heading East on Rt. 9 - As you travel Rt. 9 about 3/4 mile from your left turn onto Clone Run Road you will see a road called River Road.  Also you will see a sign for an Art Studio on the right. These landmarks mean you will be seeing the school up ahead on the left soon.

FROM THE SOUTH-WEST HEADING HEADING NORTH-EAST:

  1. Take Rt. 522 North to Berkeley Springs.

  2. Make a right onto Rt. 9 and go almost 10 miles. As you go over a little hill you will see a pond on the right next to Pleasant View Elementary School.

  3. Turn left onto Clone Run Road which is across from the schools driveway.  (School on the right, street on the left.)

IMPORTANT STUFF:

  • It is easy to find our place with the directions above but this location is not available at this time on most GPS and the MAPQUEST directions are not as good for the micro directions as those above. And remember that in the country you need the little tips for an easy trip so once you get to the local area, please follow our instructions!

  • Cell phone service is not real good locally.

  • Our personal areas are not available to visitors so we have no public restrooms. We mention it now so you know to stop along the way to take care of these needs in advance. One important reason for this new policy is that our new mommies and babies are just too disturbed when people come into the house and they are without question our first obligation.

  • Parking: Please park along the driveway on the grass under the trees.

  • Bleach your shoes before walking from the driveway in. You will find it in the form of a spray bottle or a big pan with a sponge in it to step into. This kills germs that kill little puppies you may carry in.

Here are maps of the general area.
