Activities-
Agility course, jumps, wading
pools and other doggy activities.
Mini Seminars-
Pet Grooming: As in the past, we are having our very popular
pet grooming seminar. There are always a lot of questions and everyone
it seems wants to learn to groom their own dogs and it is fun to
learn. Bring your tools and grooming table "if" you have them.
Special Feature-
Giant Schnauzer Research: This year we have added something new
and we know it is worthy of the little time it will take to help the
National Institute of Health help our dogs!
The National Institute of Health and The University of Missouri are
both doing research on the Giant Schnauzer, so this year since we have
a large number of giants here each year, I have invited NIH to draw
blood from any willing owners dogs to assist them in their effort and
they will share the samples with the University of Missouri and any
other worthy research group that is interested. NIH is doing research
on squamous cell carcinoma which is the cancer that causes toe cancer
in our dogs and The University of Missouri is doing research on
seizures. For this reason we are encouraging everyone in the region to
bring their dogs and pedigrees and share the day. There is NO CHARGE
for this whatsoever. Magna dogs need not worry about pedigrees as they
will be provided.
This event is open to all GS owners. Breeders and rescue workers
are welcome to send their GS owners and their dogs. Just call me to
RSVP.
If you know of another study underway, please inform us so that we
can consider having the samples shared further and it saves us trips
to the vet for the blood to be drawn, and expense for shipping and the
vets time. This is a win/win situation.
